Whether you’re an aspiring author or an avid reader, you won’t want to miss this fun and candid conversation with J.D. Barker, a talented Brentwood resident clearly blazing a literary trail! Brentwood Library is pleased to announce that J.D. Barker will be speaking about his exciting climb to literary acclaim on Friday, May 4, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the library’s Program Room.

In 2014, Barker self-published his first novel, Forsaken, and through perseverance, ingenuity, and creative marketing, he brought that title to the top of bestseller lists around the world. His second novel, The Fourth Monkey, sold to traditional publishers for advances in excess of $1 million. His third novel, a prequel to Dracula, co-authored with Dacre Stoker, sold in late June 2017 at auction to Putnam. Stephen King, R.L. Stine, Heather Graham, and many others have endorsed him. He is currently collaborating with James Patterson. Two feature films and a network television program are in the works based on his novels.

“We are honored to have J.D. Barker appearing here at Brentwood Library to tell us about his recent world book tour, share about meeting and writing with famous authors such as James Patterson, and inspiring us with his story of going from self-publisher to international bestselling author.” –Dennis Luther, Director, Brentwood Library

“In the tradition of Se7en and The Usual Suspects, The Fourth Monkey combines breakneck speed with a baffling puzzle.” –David Morrell, New York Times best-selling author of Murder as a Fine Art and First Blood
