In the Spotlight!

10/13/2020 Library Update - We are exercising an abundance of caution and are temporarily canceling all services by appointment until further notice. Curbside services will continue on Tuesdays 11-3, Thursdays 4-8, and Saturday 1-5.
Thank you, dennis, library director,

How do I get to the library during Brownsville Rd updates?
Brownsville Road will be receiving updates through the month of October. During this time, to enter the library parking lot - detour through the VFD as needed - see photo.
Please proceed with caution as the driveway along the right side of the VFD onto Park Drive was built for only one way traffic. With the detour requiring two way traffic, please be cautious and patient as vehicles take turns entering and leaving the park areas. The full construction report can be found at Be safe:)

Curbside Holds Pickup Services

You can pick up existing holds - just call us when you arrive into the parking lot, 412.882.5694, (number posted in lot) and we will bring out your materials and place them on our table.

Please wait in your car, or social distance until the staff member is back in the library

Also, you can once again request materials from the online catalog. If that is not your style, you can call us at the above times, and we will assist you with your requests. You can also email us at for this service.

Though the library building remains closed to the public, we are very excited to get materials into your hands in this safe way.

Some FAQs:

Can I return materials? Yes, you can return materials to our book box located outside of the library. Please note that we quarantine all returned materials for 96 hours, and any late fees are waived.

Are you accepting materials donations? We currently are NOT accepting any donations, though we appreciate the thought. Since we need to quarantine all items coming into the building, and since we have quite a backlog of system-wide materials, we do not have the space or staff time to devote to handling donated items at this time.

Don't forget about all of our great virtual programming which can be found on our YouTube channel.
