Brentwood Library Staff Member Julia McCarthy was recently honored as a Friend of Education by Brentwood Education Association.  Julia was honored with other Friends of Education from Allegheny County at a banquet on Thursday May 2nd.  Family, friends and staff members Connie Jellison and Joanne Pollacci joined Julia in celebration of her accomplishments.

Julia has served on the Brentwood School Board for 16 years, has also volunteered countless hours by serving on several school and community committees such as Hall of Fame and Brentwood Park Initiative.  When her kids were students in our district, she helped with Moore's PTA as well as the HS Band Parents' Association.  She has been a supporter of the Brentwood Public Library for many years and has worked at the library for the past 6 years.
